Taskhostw.exe - application error

FJ
Fjrod6 asked on
after upgrading to windows 10 I keep getting "the instruction at 0s00007fff713324c6 referenced memory at 0x0000000000000010. The memory could not be written. click on Ok to terminate the program" I don't know what it's for. I've also noticed my desktop apps become blank and the no apps open. I restart and it works again. Sometimes it's both taskhostw.exe and blank apps that happen or at separate times so i don't know if they're related. Please any feed back will help. I'm contemplating to go back to my previous window version.

Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I request you to follow the below methods:

Method 1:

I request you to perform system file checker. Follow the steps below which will help you:

  1. Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sfc /scannow.

The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache.

You can follow the steps in the following article:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_other-system/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-repair-system-files/bc609315-da1f-4775-812c-695b60477a93

Method 2:

Boot into safe mode and tell us if the problem exists in safe mode.

Follow the steps to enter Safe mode:

  1. Open the Settings menu and go to Update & security > Recovery > Advanced startup. Clicking Advanced startup will restart your PC in recovery mode.
  2. Click Troubleshoot to see your advanced options.
  3. In the Troubleshoot menu, click Advanced options. Click Startup Settings to change Windows' startup behavior.
  4. In the Startup Settings menu, click the Restart button to restart your PC. Your PC will now restart.
  5. To start up in Safe Mode, press 4 or F4.

I hope this helps you. If you have any further queries, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help you.

Thank you.
